Papil·la is a small Valencian takeout company. It’s a project that aims to promote healthy and homemade food among a young audience that wants to enjoy delicious and nutritious meals without sacrificing the essence of fast food.
THE CONCEPT
Cooking Up Visual Flair
For the brand image, I drew inspiration from the brand’s own name, “Papil·la,” which means taste bud in Valencian and also recalls “papilla,” the typical baby food. I created an illustration of a baby licking its lips, connecting to the idea of papilla. For the logo, I started with the silhouette of a cooking pot with something simmering inside. I turned the pot’s handles into the baby’s ears and transformed the steam rising from the pot into the baby’s hair.
For the typography, I used a punctuation mark resembling a taste bud. The arrangement of the letters forming the name resembles a classic word search puzzle.
These playful concepts allowed me to craft a fun and mischievous brand image, enriched with vibrant, eye-catching, and cheerful colors, capturing the essence of the Mediterranean and its cuisine.
