Mufubufu was a project I co-founded as part of the Garaje program at the Valencian startup accelerator Lanzadera. Our gig? Crafting personalized cartoon movies about anyone’s life story. After plenty of hard work, we figured out how to make each one unique, special, and totally automated.
Through our website’s interactive character editor, clients would fill out a form with their details, and that’s when we, the creative wizards, sprang into action to work our magic and craft their personalized movie.
Kids cartoon movie
Our customizable kids’ movie was one of our automated products. We crafted a fun story with educational messages that resonated with any child. We personalized the appearance of the movie’s main character, included the child’s name in the audio, and added a photo of the child at the end of the video. We sent the movie in a box with a USB drive, stickers, and cutouts for play. We received rave reviews!
100% custom movie
Our premium offering was the 100% custom movies, a perfect fit for weddings, our primary target market. Customers simply filled out our interactive form with their details, and then we worked our magic. The outcome? A one-of-a-kind and deeply emotional piece of animation.

My role at Mufubufu was incredibly diverse. As the CEO, alongside my partner, I managed the team, handled marketing campaigns, spearheaded the creation of new products, oversaw the overall brand design and communication, and essentially wore all the hats that come with running a startup. We were deeply involved in every aspect of the company, from creating storyboards to product automation. It was the most intense experience of my professional life. We spent three years working on the project within the prestigious startup accelerator, Lanzadera. Ultimately, it was a passionate journey of making mistakes and learning a great deal.
